Even thought djinn have a positive force letting other women to discover other side of the world, but it is harmful for the narrator. May be djinn can make the narrator be happy in some points, but in the same time, the narrator would ignore her reality life and ruin her relationship with her husband. Just like the first lady who guards the house divorce with her husband. She is weird. She didn’t want any one move into the house and she not nice with other people. In short, if the narrator wallows in the animal’s “world” she would ruin her marriage and her life.
I definitely agree with Xiao-Li in that the snake was ruining the narrator's life in reality. The snake was a positive force in a sense that it did not harm the narrator, but only offer her pleasure. However, in reality the snake was a negative force in that through temptation it pulled her apart from her family. The love that grew for the snake weakened the love with her husband. She betrays his love when she see's him killing a snake and then she takes the snake's side.
In the story, the djinn is a positive force. The narrator have a fantasy life after she meet the snake who have the spirit of monarch. it give the sexual pleasure which the narrator has never have with her husband to the narrator, It also teach the narrator there are nothing wrong and sin to fall in love. in the other way, The djinn destroy the relationship for the narrator with her husband, and the narrator becomes more isolated and lazily when she yearns for the snake.
It depends. On the one hand, the Djinn makes a positive force to push the narrator knowing that she could have chances to enjoy the sexual pleasure while her husband could not give the same feelings to her. This force makes the narrator addicted to the love with Djinn, and she is unable to extricate herself from this happiness and joy. On the other hand, it is more harmful for the narrator. Since she reinforce more and more love with Djinn, but at the same time, it disintegrates her love with her husband by degrees. It is not beneficial and dangerous for their marriage. The narrator has already been lost herself in this deformed love.
